Interviewed there recently. Yes, it is very competitive. There is one guy going into anesth., one rad onc, a couple ophtha and the rest rads. These typically aren't people who got into low tier programs either... all are on their way to Duke, Mayo, etc. From what I remember, 2 months wards, 1 month gen surgery, 1 month peds, 1 month ER and rest electives. The gen surgery is not bad at all and wards are wards. Dr. Erwin is stepping down this year due to retirement. People come from far and wide for this program. It is a good intern year where you are not miserable constantly, which is hard to find. Hope this helps.
