Hello,
I'm new to this forum, I am taking Canadian DAT on this 21st. I have little concerns about the Carving section. I have no qlues how the question would be asked in the carving part. Do they give pattern along with the dimensions and carve exactly the same figure? Or do they give explanation form of the question(e.g flute end, triangle front piece or watever) and then we have to imagine that figure and carve out?? Is there any website where I can see similar type of patterns, I already have CDA's manual kit,but still doesn't have any explanation about how would they question on this part. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey I took it last november, so I can tell you that they give you a sheet of paper with a almost to scale diagram of the soap with the measurements of how the soap should look like when you are done with it. There are no writings on the sheet of paper just a diagram and measurements. Hope this helps GL

Hi
If you look at page 16 in the manual they sent you with the carving kit it'll show you the "formatting" they use. On the acutal DAT you won't have the dirctions for the carving or directions for how to handle the carving.( as they are in the manual)
What it'll actally have are the figures that are drawn and the measurments along them and i think their given in the same order but nonetheless they'll be labled. They won't tell you that this side has a flute or a triangle ..you'll need to consider all the views (the side, the top, the bottom etc) to figure out what they are asking for. Don't worry, you'll be fine 🙂
all the best to you.
