Just got back from a banquet where Ohio state, Michigan and Case dental admission representatives spoke and had a one-on-one question session with people who attended.

The guy from case said they are the only school releasing a program (I think in fall) where you can get DMD/MD degree... This probably isn't new information to you guys... but how would that work, function, etc? How long would it be? I guess I just can't imagine how it'd function.

Case+Michigan also agreed that one of the top scores they take into consideration when accepting people on DAT is the reading comprehension, I found that a little surprising.

I personally wasn't impressed with Case or Michigan, I asked them a completely normal question about if they required collecting of teeth, etc and they both looked at eachother and laughed loud as if I had told them a hilarious joke.👎

i remember reading on the Case webpage that applicants apply thru AMCAS and then can file an application for pursuing the 2nd (DMD) degree.

my guess is that you have to do 2 years didactic + 3 years of clinical.. half med/half dental. then do a residency if you want to do anything other than general dentistry

The heavily weighted reading comprehension should be no surprise.

I guess I figured bio and chem might be more looked at. Of course though, I don't know a whole lot about how some things work.
