I need some advice on what to do in my particular situation. I have been involved in writing up a case report that I am submitting with the help of my medical resident. However, it is just now being sent out to different journals so I am not sure if or when it will be accepted for publication. Is it appropriate to put it in the ERAS application?

Also, the second issue is that I am also involved in this research project with a fellow, helping out with a study. It too is not even close to being finished so do I also mention something about this in the app?

I guess what I'm really asking is that I need to obviously fill up some space on the app and these are things I have participated in but have not had any publications yet. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't think it's yet appropriate to list it in publications, but perhaps you can list it under "experiences." Or maybe try to bring it up in the personal statement. At the very least, you'll have it as something to talk about in interviews, but of course you have to get there first.
