a 35 yr old female comes into the clinic complaining of fatigue which is more pronounced lately but has been a problem for several months. She is particulary bothered by her inability to do her usual amount of moderate exercise, saying that she gets short of breath just climbing up the first 2 flights to her apt. Otherwise she feels quite well.

what questions would you ask her?
what would you look for in the physical exam?
differential diagnosis? Probable diagnosis?
diagnostic tests?
treatment?

my question is in a simple case like this, where you are not given much information, how do you go about diagnosing and treating a patient. Where do you begin?.....it is so broad. It could be so many things!

She's probably applying to medical school.

this is pre-allo. Try allopathic or general residency issues.

try going to the lecture before the PBL group meeting. that might help you out a bit.
