    it takes both because I know some folks who are committed, but it just isn't happening for them.

    One can argue that you need the "whole" package every step of the way. This is just my vote.

    Brains . . . to get into dental school.

    Committment . . . once in dental school.

    Personality/business savvy . . . once you're a practicing dentist.
