We are trying to provide information to Surgery residents applying through the SF Match/Arizona Central Application Service. This is NOT for medical students who will be applying through the integrated match.

Your comments would be appreciated if you have gone through this match. If you have not, please do not comment on this thread. We will have many other general plastic surgery threads.

Just by compiling the few important links you have already saved these guys a huge hassle. Kudos for the setting up this site. Hopefully they won't have to endure the enormous number of tangential aggravations we experienced during our app process. Now if we could just get CAS to make an online app (and a competent staff)...

How does one sign up for the resident's forum?

1. Register here for the Student Doctor Forum
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/register.php?

2. Then, Go to "User CP" link, then to "Group membership" and request to become a member of the Plastic Surgery Forum.

3. Please e-mail the following information to [email protected]

*Full Name
*SDN user name
*e-mail (current university e-mail to verify)
*personal e-mail (if you do NOT want University e-mail used on forum)
*Plastic surgery Status (In Plastics?, Starting July 2006, matched for 2007, applicant for 2008?)

This is a private forum only open to those applying through the SF Match for independent programs. We went through it last year without a forum or website. We hope this helps.

I am a 2008 categorical applicant. How do I log into the categorical/independent match forum? All I see is a bunch of medical student posts under "plastic surgery."

Ok, so there are 51 programs on the Maricopa central app... but there are 65 listed in the directory on the SFMatch page... What are these extra 14 programs?

Go with the CAS - their checklist is more up-to-date
You can see the SF Match the other 14 programs and when they updated - some not for many years

I think USC has a slot - contact them directly. Warren Garner, MD is one of the Professors there - contact him
