CBC Request E-mail, why and who?

I got an e-mail from a Criminal Background Check service asking for consent to run a background check on me. It said that one or more of the medical schools that I applied to has requested a CBC on me.

Has anyone gotten this e-mail?
What could it mean?

Yes others have. Some of the students learned pre-Oct 15 that they had acceptances because of the CBC. I would authorize the CBC and remain humble, but fairly confident you got in somewhere... schools wouldn't spend the money on rejected students.

Very true, you could also be waitlisted. I sure as all get-out hope that isn't the case.

I'm still hung up on the fact that it may be a disappointing waitlist.

Yeah, that would be awful. I already have a couple wait lists, so it would further eat away at my ego.
