Hi everyone!

I just got my CBSE score report today and I got a 185 (64) and not sure if I should be thinking about retaking it or not. Some say this is enough to be competitive and others say a 70 is a minimum to guarantee a spot. This was my first attempt and I just started my D2 year (current GPA is 3.88)

I’d retake. You have PLENTY of time. Can’t do externships or anything until D3 at most programs anyways (or at all because of COVID)

Hi everyone!

I just got my CBSE score report today and I got a 185 (64) and not sure if I should be thinking about retaking it or not. Some say this is enough to be competitive and others say a 70 is a minimum to guarantee a spot. This was my first attempt and I just started my D2 year (current GPA is 3.88)
70 isn’t a minimum to guarantee anything. If you’re looking at 6 year programs you should shoot for an 80 at least to be competitive. If you want your pick of 4 year programs then a 75 will put you in that “safe zone”. You just started D2. Put in the miles and retake.

Along the same lines of the original question, would a 66/67 from a “prestigious” p/f school be enough to land interviews from 4 year programs (assuming I apply to all 4 year programs)?

Definitely re take. No question. You’ve got a good first start and will likely improve greatly your next attempt. Your test date is printed on your test report. I’m not sure if it would happen, but you wouldn’t want to be in an interview and have the interviewer ask you why you didn’t re take the exam to improve even though you had plenty of time. I had to retake it and it feels amazing when the good score finally comes through.
