hi all
i plan to give my part1 in dec and have a dilemma as to which one i shud opt for the cbt or the pbt.....i hear scoring is relatively easier with pbt as its mainly taken by dental students already into schools.
wud b of grt help if someone cud throw some lite on this.

hi gavin
the nbde part 1 candidate guide says that scoring in pbt is made by comparison with a well-defined reference grp(which consists of students already rolled into dental schools)
students already doing their DDS dont have the pressure to score in 90s(to get into a school) whereas the primary aim of ppl writing cbt is to get 90 or above.
eventhough the exams r equally tuf, since the scoring is in percentile this cud make a diff in what an individual scores.
some of my friends who already have taken their part 1 expressed some mixed opinions abt this and i posted it on the forum just to get it cleared.
cheers
