  1. Pre-Podiatry
Hello,

I am thinking about switching my major to Finance/Pre-Podiatry, because I really like both the finance and science worlds. If I did this switch, however, I would have to take my sci pre-reqs at the CC nearby. This CC is pretty reputable from my state, meaning everyone knows about it basically.

I do have some sci classes already completed here at my university, but my biz classes aren't really transferrable from the CC, so I would definitely have to take the rest of my chem, bio, and physics classes at the CC.

Do the podiatry schools look down on this? I do have justifiable reasons, because it would save me TONS of money plus I can't take my biz classes at CC because they wouldn't transfer.

Sorry if I am ranting, I am just nervous because I want to be able to be a solid competitor for podiatry school and don't want to mess up!

Thanks SDN'ers you are the best!

I don't think that taking science classes at the CC would necessarily hurt you. Some CC's have very solid classes, even better than major U's. Just make sure that you do well.

HOWEVER, as you already seem to be aware of, the complaint that any admissions committee could have is that the CC didn't prepare you as well as a major U could have. Therefore, something like the MCAT becomes a lot more important for a person in your situation. If you do well on the MCAT, it would be pretty obvious that your education did prepare you for what lies ahead.

With solid grades from the CC and a solid MCAT score, I think you would be just fine.

Thank you for your help! I will probably follow through with CC classes then.
