Has anyone taken any online science prerequisite courses at any of the participating Colorado community colleges that are part of the CCC Online system?

My home school will be Colorado Northwestern Community College, and I just need Chem 1 and 2, Physics 1 lecture and physics 2 lab + lecture. Will DPT programs wonder why I am taking courses in Colorado when I live in Florida and simultaneously taking 3 online courses here in FL and one in person course? None of the courses on my transcripts say 'online' nor will any say that.

I don't want to be disengenuous, but I know online prerequisites are legitimate courses and I shouldn't have to worry about this.

Thoughts?

All the schools I am applying to do not accept online "labs". I am not sure how it works if you take lectures and labs at different schools. When in doubt, contact the schools you want to apply and ask them if they accept online classes / labs etc. Far as I know, the schools i am applying to, do not have issues with online classes except they do not accept Labs online.

a lot of schools do not take online labs - as said above.

also it doesn't matter that your transcript doesn't say "online." on your PTCAS application, you have to designate the courses that were an online course, so unless you lie on your application ((fraud)) the schools will know..

Definitely want to avoid fraud.

I agree that online labs, not lecture classes, seem to be the only issue.

I am going to run a few searches online to see if any programs won't accept online science prereqs, period.

I am starting an online physics course at a state college in Florida, and I would hate for that to.be an issue elsewhere, when I apply to DPT programs out of state, for example.

OK, so here is my latest idea. I'm going to take my physics and chem courses at a Colorado community college online, and since they are four credit courses that come with labs, and since online labs may be unacceptable, I will retake the labs at my local state college in person.

It is a little duplication of effort, but I know I can get straight A's this way.

Leave it to me to think of a scheme like this!

Thoughts???

Not sure how your community college is setup but mine does not allow labs to be taken seperately they are part of the entire course - lecture and lab. Id check with your school to see how they work.

CCC online is like that; they have the lab and the class joined into one. I emailed some DPT programs in Florida yesterday. So far UNF answered and they said the course I showed them from one of the colleges in CCC Online, CHE 111, is fine as Chem 1, but they SUGGESTED that I do the lab in person. So if I can't take them the normal way because of my schedule, I am going to take their Chem and lab, and then take the lab again in person separately at my local college.

Are the CCC labs actually online or do you have to purchase an in-home lab set?

I know I'll have to buy a home lab set. There may also be a computerized component, like the way Physio Ex is used for Anatomy, I will have to find out.
