I am a upcoming CA-3 who is interested in Critical Care. I have the desire to stay in Texas for training. What can someone tell me about the fellowship programs in Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio?

The Army has one in San Antonio. The bulk of the training is at San Antonio Military Medical Center, but they also rotate at UTHSCSA and the VA. It doesn't fill every year. Call them up and see if they take civilians.
CCM at UTSW takes 1 fellow a year. Rotations include the SICU/MICU/ neuro ICU at parkland and SICU at the VA. Also the fellow rotates in the CTICU down in Methodist Houston. Mostly home call. The outgoing fellow seemed happy with his time at UTSW.
I'm a CA2 at UT San Antonio. We have a new ACGME approved CCM fellowship with its first fellows beginning next month. Rotations are VA-SICU, U SICU, MICU, PICU at Santa Rosa Childrens, BAMC Burns and TEE experience.
