No call for me either.
did anyone who interviewed at the end of november/early december get a call yet?? adcom was supposed to let people know today in the afternoon sometime...it's about 115 chicago time and no call yet for me....sigh..i feel impending doom 🙁
I never got a call when I got in...just a letter.
!! so weird..
i called CCOM just now bc i was getting pretty anxious - the woman who i spoke to over the phone told me there was no adcom meeting scheduled for today, and that no acceptances or anything are scheduled as of yet...she also said since the dean has to sign off on any acceptances before they let people know - they cant tell anyone for a bit bc the dean is out of town until next week...so strange - i called them on tuesday and they told me today was the day..i'm confused, but eh, i guess it's just more of a waiting game now.
I am so frustrated with CCOM! My secondary has been complete for OVER 6 weeks now and I still have not heard ANYTHING and now I wrote them an email on three days ago that they still have not answered. I am local and have emailed/called several times but now it's like I am in some sort of information black hole with them. Should I call them/email them again today again? I feel like they are going to get a restraining order against me soon!
she isn't. i just called. lol.
Did you get a hold of anyone more helpful? I was hoping they hadn't gotten back to me because my interview invite was waiting for me at home after work but no luck! Keep me updated if you hear anything ThisIsYourLife, at least I know I'm not alone with them 🙂
nope. both times I called today the same lady answered the phone. she said the same thing the email told me.. no status checks, there is no timeline for review.. from what she has heard i am probably still under review.. but thats it. blah!@

Just got an interview invitation for the end of January. I was kind of shocked first becuase i was a think envelope and I thought it would be a rejection of some sorts. But then I saw a travel planning broshure. Are interviews one-on-one, panel, open or clsed file? It seems like Interview feedback is offering some contradicted info. BTW, I was completed end of October.
congrats... im SUPER jealous.
You got some good interviews up in your sleeve already. it is time to share. 🙂
I just withdrew my acceptance from CCOM.
There's one more spot for you guys!
Good luck.
\👍
My interview is on 28th. I am surprised there is not much discusssion in CCOM thread.
how did you find out if you were on some sort of interview waitlist??
Anyone out there interview at both AZCOM and CCOM? I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.
When were you complete at CCOM? I felt like I had a pretty solid application and it still took me 2 months to get an interview invite.
Looks like you've got a good one too, so just keep the faith and I'm sure it'll work out for you.👍
Enjoy Arizona though, I loved it out there!
I did. I'm from Chicago and went to my AZCOM interview before CCOM. I was fully intent on staying in Chicago, but then I saw the campus. Now mind you, I'm a lover of the outdoors, so the mountains in the distance grabbed me right away. The Midwestern campus is on a huge plot of land they're still building new stuff on. Everything is incredibly new, the student housing is incredibly nice, and the students appear very happy. The climate may take some adjustment, but I was just struck with how beautiful the campus is. It's located in Glendale, an up-and-coming, very pretty suburb of Phoenix. Just about everything you'd need is within a few minutes of campus.
Some of this was in stark contrast to CCOM. The facilities are older [although still more than adequate], and some of the student housing looks like the pits (although off-campus housing is much nicer and more amply priced). The students here also seemed very happy, friendly, and excited to be studying medicine.
I walked away from AZCOM thinking I was going there. CCOM's interview was nice but did very little to change my mind. Many of the AZCOM faculty are former CCOM'ers as well. The board scores in AZ are very very high as well. That's all I have time for now, but remember: both schools are great schools and will educate you very well. We're all lucky to be considered by either. 🙂 Good luck!
I got the alternate list today.
it was my top choice, and i thought my interviews went well. my fall grades werent exceptionally hot either , looks like i'm screwed. 🙁
How did you find out? When did you interview? I interviewed the first week of Dec and I'm all![]()
Wait, so they lied to you when you called last week? That's cold-blooded. I hope everything works out, maybe we'll end up classmates.

it also seemed as though the clinical opportunities at CCOM are much better than AZCOM. Remember AZCOM is in a much smaller city...fewer hospitals and fighting for rotation space against other more established med schools.
