When I logged into my Midwestern account it doesn't look any different, it still says that I've been accepted to MWU but not to which one. I called the AZCOM admissions office and they said that I had been accepted there, but what will I notice if I've then been accepted to CCOM?
 
i got all excited to go check my interact now and nothing has changed!

Hey zipmedic,
Does it say that you were accepted to CCOM under the application status page in "Interact Now" account or was it somewhere else? In the acceptance thread on SDN you posted that you had some special login for AZCOM that you were able to use to check CCOM's status? What login is that? How did you get it?
 
The interact now account is updated nightly, so there might be a change around night time.
 
yeah.. let me get the "special code" ugh.. sux that its the weekend now and im gonna be on edge for at least two more days. 😡

I think your avatar says it best. I am determined not to let my weekend consist of my phone on hip, checking interact now and sdn every 15mins.
 
Yeah it seems that zipmedic is the only one who is accepted to CCOM so far on SDN. Please correct me if i am wrong.

It seems he is. We will all find out soon enough. If they met thur, then some letters might have been sent out today, so its unlikely we'll find out in tomorrows mail. Seems the interact now site was updated a little after those that were accepted (to AZCOM) found out via snail mail. So hurry up and wait!
 
Question - I had an interview recently at CCOM. About this Interact Now account, did those of you who have an account set it up BEFORE you were accepted? Or, do you have to be accepted to set one up?

I'm not sure about the special code thing but for the general interact now account anyone can sign up. I did and I'm not even complete yet.
 
yeah im gettin a lil antsy in my pantsy. Id be fine if no one heard yet but since zipmedic did i feel like i NEED to know now. haha .. thing is im pretty sure that he didnt find out thru the actual interact now. I found out about my interview from some weird address and i put my info in there and it took me to the scheduling page. Maybe he found out thru something like that. hope we find out soon!:hardy:
 
Once you are accepted, it tells you about a different login place. I had the general interact account before my interviews, but am still waiting on the new login info, which will be in the AZ-COM packet.

After I got my secondary email, they sent a letter snail mail with a student ID number to set up your interact now account. You can set one up without it, but your application info is not on there unless you have the student ID number.
 
I got my letters of acceptance from CCOM and AZCOM today so I would just keep an eye open.

i interviewed on the 24th as well. Did you get a letter in the mail?

Yeah it was really fast. I had actually called the admissions office there to check to see if the acceptance notice on the interact now website was for AZCOM or for them (CCOM) and she told me that we shouldn't find out until next week for CCOM. I'm guessing they told people that so they wouldn't keep calling to check the status of their application. Its very exciting though. I'm kind of having a hard time picking between the two... but we'll see what happens.

So let me get this correct - you got your AZCOM acceptance by mail but CCOM leaked your news by phone?

I totally believe you - my neurotic side jumped sky high once zipmedic told us to check our interact now accounts! Just want to make sure I understand you correctly 🙂

And congrats!
 
I have an interview scheduled at azcom but haven't heard from ccom is that unusual anyone esle????

No... I learned about my acceptances to both CCOM and AZCOM via the mail. When i called the admissions office at CCOM they told me i wouldn't find out if i had been accepted or not until next week. Instead of finding out next week, i found out this week. CCOM didn't leak the news by phone.

Hey Meg -- as the first person who they interviewed this year, you should call them on Monday! If anyone deserves it, you do.

For what it is worth, I think I was one of the first acceptees to AZCOM on these boards, and I have nothing in writing almost a month later. I think the fact that they are going to a paperless system is taking them longer than anticipated. Hang in there! I figure by this time next year, I will be wondering why I was stressing out when I didn't even know what real stress was going to be like in med school!
 
I interviewed September 27 at CCOM and also live close to CCOM. I checked my mail today and nothing was there. I hope that makes you feel better.

im kinda confused.. if adcom just met thurs how can anyone have already received soemthing in the mail?? i know the postal system doesnt work that fast. DId they already meet before thurs??

No they met Thursday, and the Dean had to sign off on the acceptances on Friday, so I have no idea how someone received mail by Saturday (even if they live next door). That is pretty amazing.

Yeah i don't know... good luck to you all. I'm sure there is a good explanation for it.
 
Can anyone reccommend a good hotel to stay at that is close to the school? I'm headed there for an interview on Nov. 8 and I haven't made any hotel reservations yet. Thanks a lot
 
Does anyone know the cutoffs for CCOM?

Comfort Inn is real close and relatively cheap but pretty clean... only complaint is you have to pay for the wireless.
 
I just called CCOm to ask about my status and they told me that Dean of Admssions has not signed off yet so nothing can be told over the phone. I was told that I will hear back by the end of this month. What the heck.. 😡

ok that is just ridiculous!!!!!!! theres ppl who already recieved an acceptance and theyre telling you the dean hasnt signed off !! you have to be kidding me. Is this amuzing for them!?!? All these different responses are just stressing me out! IM mad!+pissed+
 
just for fun, i called them as well. Said that if we want to know theyll be able to tell us over the phone in 2 or 3 days. They said that nothing has been sent out yet?? which is weird since some ppl already know...
 
🙂 So the cycle goes. Relax, we'll get a decision when we get a decision... until then there really is nothing to do but wait. Who knows about people finding out and letters and mail and signing off and websites.... The acceptance will eventually make its way to you eventually... hang in there 👍
 
I think the those who also got accepted to AZCOM were able to find out about CCOM through some hidden way as zipmedic had indicated. There is some online database that both AZCOM and CCOM share that accepted students can log into and check their student accounts. THe login info for that account comes in the acceptance letter for AZCOM. CCOM has a new online system this year, so we expect glitches. Damn we have to wait another 2 days..🙁
 
Whew! Good thing I didn't take off work today to wait for the mail!



(kidding - but did consider going home for lunch to check 🙄)
 
The main reason this is so frustrating is that CCOM is my #1 DO choice, but I have 2 other interviews scheduled out of town on 10/31 and 11/9. I've been waiting to make travel plans in the event I get awesome news from CCOM and don't have to shell out the $$ to fly to my other interviews.

My deadline for making travel plans is 10/28 so if I don't hear anything by Wednesday, I'm going to call them again and let them know my situation. Maybe they'll be a little more sympathetic.

And maybe the dean will sign off on the acceptances!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😡
