Hi everyone!
Long time lurker here posting and asking for advice on choosing between the two DO schools I listed. I have been very fortunate to have received early acceptances to these schools, which has definitely been a great stress relief for me throughout this cycle. I am currently also still waiting to hear back from 3 MD programs which I have interviewed, don't know if chances are high for acceptances though...
I would appreciate any perspective/insight on which one to choose. Things I want to consider are: solid program that opens doors to any specialty of choice (I am undecided so want to stay open), neighborhood (I like an urban environment), safety of environment, cost of tuition (also was thinking and kindly asking anyone's opinion on whether it would be a good idea for me to receive support from my parents? My parents are willing to help me with financing my education but I don't want to be doing this and possibly adding burdens to my family. Was wondering if anyone who has gone through the scenario could share any insights on how big of a difference would it be if I receive support from parents vs not).
Lastly, for people who have gone through this, since I am still waiting to hear back from more schools, when would you advice would be a good time for me start looking at housing/dining/insurances and such for my accepted schools? I don't want to look too early given that there might be changes, but given how proactive everyone else has been, I want to have a good idea for the timeline of things.
Thank you everyone and best of luck!
