ok question is, why do they ask for a resume when you have already turned in all the information on your accomas?

does this mean that they do not look at your accomas info when they are evaluating you?

or is it just another format that they can look at the info in, kind of like a smaller quicker summary in case they need to glance it over?

just asking because, if they dont look at the accomas info, then should i make my resume detailed? or just brief listing and description?

I would make it succinct, but good enough that they know what youre about, ya know. Good luck dude....

I made mine more descriptive than the activity listings on the primary app.
And definitely proofread it before you send it in because they'll be looking through it during your interview... Best of luck!

well to anyone who has gotten in already or rather passed through the interview

do they look at accomas info or just the resume?

im getting mixed results, some people are saying make it very very brief, even just list the stuff, and some of you are saying make it very descriptive?

which one!

lol

The reason you must submit a resume is because it is used during the interview-- they don't have your AACOMAS application or MCAT scores in front of them during the interview, just the resume and your essay.

Mine was brief...I can pm you some of the info if you are interested.

ok so they dont have the accomas file in front of them, so i should put some good info on the resume i suppose? so that they can see what i did and a little about it, it creates more room for discussion or just shows more of what i did perhaps?

im just hesitant at just making a list tho, but is that better? just have a list and then they see the stuff, and it gives them something to ask me? because if what i have is too detailed they wont have any curiousity to ask anything, get what im saying?

so i guess just a list with brief summaries?

also seperate question, if i didnt put some activity on my accomas can i add it on the resume here? i just had forgotten or thought it wasnt important, my participation in a certain club. but i wnat to put that now, is that ok?

and i also want to put some stuff i did in high school, just two tutoring gigs i had, will that be ok? but they only ask for college stuff right?

lol

my resume has my mcat scores and GPA... They're a significant part of your CV...

Mine has my GPA, no MCAT-- didn't feel the need to put it on there because they obviously look at that before they invite you for an interview... I think it is more important to include information that tells them about the person you are i.e. activities, jobs, interests. Plus if I remember correctly they give you an outline in the secondary application packet that explains the way they want it set up, so I would focus on that.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but I'm like 95% sure that they tell you not to put your gpa and mcat on your CV.

I'm sure its not too big of a deal tho, I have read on interview feedback that sometimes they straight up ask you your scores.

Well then I guess you'd only be 95 percent wrong then 😉 CV's are supposed to highlight all of your strengths... my MCAT, a 45S, is one of my strengths (this IS bull****, just to be clear).

I had a CV already made -- I don't think it makes much sense to revamp it for every interview.

Here is what it says:

Attach a copy of your resume or curriculum vitae, including the following information:
· Educational history (colleges attended and degrees earned)
· Work history
· College extracurricular activities, honors, and leadership responsibilities
· Community activities, honors, and leadership responsibilities
· Medically related work and volunteer experiences
· Hobbies and nonacademic interests

My EDUCATIONAL HISTORY section goes something like this:

- The ********** **** University
- Major; Minors
- GPA: yadda
- Extracurriculars: etc etc et

- MCAT Scores

45S, 19VR 18 PS 16 BS 🙂

- Podunk Area High School

- GPA

etc. etc. etc.

My CV doesn't have the headings ver batim but I feel that it adequately covered all of those areas. I'll let you guys know next week if they give me grief about it in my interview. Good luck on your CV!

🙁 you are right, I just double checked, it was AZCOM, not CCOM that tells you not to include gpa and mcat

· Educational history (colleges attended and degrees earned, do not include GPA or MCAT information)
· Work history
· College extracurricular activities, honors, and leadership responsibilities
· Community activities, honors, and leadership responsibilities
· Medically related work and volunteer experiences
· Hobbies and nonacademic interests

Not sure if you applied there, the secondary stuff they send you is pretty close to CCOM's. Btw gluck on your interview.

They don't have your whole AACOMAS in front of them, but IIRC, they do have your personal statement and your secondary essays, plus your CV.

Hey don't do a sad face, that makes me feel like a dick.

I meant it to be joking, hence the 😉

No Chicago's about as far as I'm willing to move from home. Wherever I go, my fiance has to follow much to her dismay.

Best of luck to everyone applying to CCOM... anyone interviewing there next week??
