I'm signed up for a rotation in the CCU but wondering if spending time in the CVICU would be more beneficial for residency. Unfortunately I only have elective time to do one or the other (also scheduled for MICU). I know I’d learn a lot from either one, but which do you think would be more valuable in terms of anesthesia?

The CCU is a grand waste of time IMHO. As an intern what I learned in the CCU was how to admit and discharge tons of sick old men with bad hearts as fast as I possibly could. And also how fun it was to be abused as an Anesthesia intern working with spastic, flailing IM senior residents.

Go with the SICU, and stay as far away from the medicine fleas as possible.
