Does anyone have any information on average GPA/GRE scores for UCF's Masters in Clinical Psych. My GPA will be slightly over a 3.0 by time I graduate buy UCF seems to only care about the last 60 hours of your degree. My last 60 hours GPA is around a 3.5, and I want to know whether I should apply for the masters program or try to go straight to the PhD in Clinical.

There should be a "student admissions data etc..." link somewhere on the PhD website. It should say what the mean and median gpa was for undergrads going directly into the PhD program was. From what I have seen, anything around 3.5 should be good enough for those kind of programs for undergrad. If you are going in with a masters, the gpa must be at least 3.8. If you cant find any admission data available. Look for a contact on the department website, I am sure you can contact the director or the admissions coordinator for those programs.

I went to a grad talk given by one of the faculty at UCF's clinical psych program -- they really emphasize undergrad research work. If you have a lot of that (2 years with a poster/presentation) -- plus the last 60 hours at a decent GPA, I don't think you'd be wasting your time. Esp. If you have a good GRE score. However I guess the same could be said of almost any clinical psych PhD program.

GPA is important, but research work is essential. People asked her tons of questions about GPA, but she would always emphasize research.
