Certificate vs Diploma

What is the difference beside limitation in states and cost of getting diploma btw certificate and diploma? Does it have some impact in private practice let's say with insurance or anything? Is it worth to get into debt for the diploma?

With diploma you get a degree. With certificate you get nothing legally speaking
