Has anyone gotten an acceptance prior to receiving the Certiphi background check email?

I was under the impression that only people who have been accepted to a school were sent the background check email.

You only get a CBC email if you are accepted or waitlisted somewhere (it says so in the certiphi email).

So once we do the process laid out by CBC we don't have to deal with it again for every acceptance after, right?

That is what I thought. I was under the impression that completing it the first time allowed all schools who request a CBC on you later in the cycle to have access to the CBC on file from the first time you completed it.

In other words, feel free to run afoul of the law after your background check...

When did you file it? I filed mine over a week ago and it still hasn't come back. They told me that they were waiting on one county's clearance form (mmmkay) and the county from where I went to high school.

I submitted on 2/28 and it came back on 3/3. Did any of you guys get charged for the background check?

Yeah, submitted mine on 3/1 and am still waiting. I'm in a panic because I'm not sure whether a speeding ticket in Texas was a class C misdemeanor or not. My driving record is clean as is my criminal record (there was no record of the ticket on either) but this wait is driving me crazy.

I know what you mean- I was a bit worried about mine too. I'm sure yours will turn out fine. But for whatever reason I wasn't charged for it??

It's weird. Nothing shows up on my driver's record or criminal background check from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Yet I see all of these "GOTCHA" stories on SDN of rescinded acceptances over speeding tickets that were actually misdemeanors that make me want to curl into a ball and weep until I get my background check back.
