I got the email today at 1:23 PM PST. Finished filling out the form and received the confirmation at 1:44 PM PST.

Let's see how long it takes them to find out I am a murderer that has killed someone in every US state before deciding to change my life, take the MCAT, spend the money on secondaries and interviews and come off as an unbelievably charming person that was somehow able to get a few acceptances.

Once you have passed this background check, does it automatically get sent to your accepted schools that participate in this program?

Haven't been sent one yet.

How long does it take to receive the report?

And is the school notified of what comes back?

Anyone else not get it yet?

^ I haven't received one either. Is this school-specific or is it linked to our central amcas application?

Submitted yesterday, received background report today!

What school(s) were you accepted to if you don't mind me asking? And is it correct to assume that if a school sends out the certiphi application, then all accepted students of that school should receive it at the same time?

Hmmm I don't have an email either, and I'm definitely on that list of schools. 😕

same- I guess it's done in waves? I think the school has some time window to communicate your acceptance to AMCAS, so if it happened recently or just before the holidays maybe the school hasn't done that yet. I'm not worried about it, given that there are plenty of us who should be receiving one and haven't yet.

Completed the next day at 9:09 AM PST.

They did not find out about my past. I guess I lucked out.

*sarcasm*

But seriously, I was nervous when going through it. I didn't get hired for a job once because a background check told them I was a 40 year old child molester in Colorado who plead guilty to it and stalking charges. :scared:

First off, I have never been to Colorado other than their airport. Secondly, I didn't know I was 40! Nor have I ever molested a child or stalked someone. I am just glad that didn't come up. Weird thing, it only ever came up on that one report and challenging it did not get me employed. I guess even being wrongly accused of it makes employers worried about hiring said person.

Okay really, ALL previous addresses? Are we talking dorms too? Added to apartments there's way more than 7 if that's the case...Sorry if this is a ridiculous question

Hmm, I didn't even think about on-campus addresses. Just received the email/submitted the background check info and I didn't add those. I wonder if I should have. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now.

Because school addresses aren't permanent addresses, I don't think it's necessary.

Look at it like this...if you got arrested for something, the cop would record the information from your license, which most likely has your home/permanent address, not your dorm room. Thus, when they booked you, they'd be using your home address, not where you currently reside.

This makes sense to me at least

Submitted today. Anyone know if a minor misdemeanor traffic violation will show up?

A misdemeanor? I think they show up. Though not sure about 'minor misdemeanor' being less serious and not reported. The problem with these is you check a box saying you don't have any.

Once you're accepted you're in. There is absolutely no reason to be neurotic after that point, unless you're hiding something serious.

Got it yesterday, sent it then and just got the report back. FYI, I didn't put my dorm address but it was included in the final report so perhaps they consider those as well?

In any case, they did it for me so if anyone else forgot/didn't do it, relax.

In my state a minor traffic misdemeanor is a civil infraction, not criminal. You get a minor misdemeanor for failing to use a turn signal, brake light out, speeding ticket, etc. It didn't even cross my mind when I filled out the amcas that I rolled a stop sign and got a ticket for it a few years ago, I don't think I was being dishonest in the least.

I don't know if there's a distinction between civil and criminal misdemeanors. You'll find out soon enough if it shows up in your report. If it does, send a clarification letter to the schools that accepted you.
