I can't figure out why Xe in XeF2 has three nonbonding electron domains and why Xe in XeF4 has two nonbonding electron domains. Can someone help me out? I'm pretty rusty and frustrated.

WOW...Just figured it out, NVM!!!!

Just for my sake, or if anyone looks this up:

I'm assuming by "nonbonding electron domains" you mean nonbonding electron pairs? So some analysis for XeF2: Since Xe already has a full outer shell (5p6) so it has 8 available e-. 2 of them are used to form covalent bonds, leaving 6 left, or 3 lone pairs.

For XeF4, 4 electrons on Xe are used to form covalent bonds and we have 4 more, or 2 lone pairs left.
