For Chad's OCHEM - I finished the first 2 days of Chads OCHEM videos, understanding them conceptually, It seems like his DAY's 3 and 4 are just reactions - although he does explain the mechanisms, do I even need to understand them, or can I get by (scoring a high score in OCHEM) just memorizing the reactions from his site and memorizing the roadmaps in destroyer...

Basically what I am asking is - Is it enough to understand the mechanisms behind SN1, SN2, E1, E2 and just memorize the rest of the reactions without really knowing the mechanisms and still get a 20+ score?

I would appreciate any guidance...

Is it better to understand mechanisms first than memorize reactions or can I memorize first than understand reactions - I am just getting lost in his swarm of reactions...

Understand them first, it makes them much easier to remember. But if you truly understand the fundamentals of SN1/SN2/E1/E2 then you won't really need to memorize all the reactions, they should be intuitive. It also takes time to get familiar with all these reactions so it's probably going to be overwhelming until you've gone over it a few times.
