High GPA but DAT is pretty close to average/just slightly above average (avg = 20.4), which may look like grade inflation to schools (bc the DAT is the equalizer/levels the playing field). Also, half of your list consists of really competitive schools (Penn, Harvard, UCSF, UCLA), where your DAT falls below average, so I'd add like four more schools, privates, so that you don't have to reapply next cycle (worst case scenario). Do your research on those privates and only apply to schools you'll realistically attend, taking into account both cost & location. And no, you don't need to worry about your QR or RC. Good luck!

Thank you for the feedback!

I’m actually not concerned about UPenn or UCSF.

UPenn’s class of 2023 has an average AA of 22 and average PAT of 21. UCSF, according to a webinar they conducted in April, said they look for applicants with a 20+ AA. I think my DAT score should suffice?

I also have really strong, unique secondary essays, according to my academic advisors.

Yes, I agree that Harvard and UCLA are more reach schools. My advisors told me to give them a shot anyway.

did your advisor recommend you apply to only 8 schools?

did your advisors tell you to worry about your 18 and 20?

No, all my advisors told me was that my academic average was a solid/competitive score.

so you listened to them about your school choices, but not about your DAT scores?

I agree with artist, you should probably consider adding a few more schools, I disagree that you should only add private schools

and while your stats are good, she is also correct that you have chosen 4 extremely competitive OOS schools

why didn't you apply to Michigan?
