Hi guys I'm very depressed I only have 2 interviews so far this season and those places invite hundreds of applicants.

My stats:
IMG, no visa needed (I'm an American IMG)
Step 1: 213
Step 2CS: pass
Step 2 CK: 221 second attempt* (one fail) and submitted late

I have wanted to be FM physician for so long and I feel so hopeless.

Can you please tell me realistically what I should do to match and what my chances truly are?

Thank you.

All or nothing man. You're going to not match to save money at this point? Do everything in your power to match, figure the rest out later. Two interviews is not enough.

Exactly how many programs did you apply to? As an IMG with a less than flawless record, NO PROGRAM IS A BAD PROGRAM. Seriously. I graduated from SGU in 2009 and applied everywhere. Don't be afraid to call programs to check on the status of your application. Good luck and stay positive.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma. I agree with the above posters - you'll have to broaden your search a bit. Call programs and talk to them about your interest. Can you set up a rotation at any of these programs - kind like an audition rotation? If you have any contacts anywhere or friends that you know who have gotten in somewhere, talk to them and see if they'll tell you the real scoop behind their experience. Does your old school have an alumni directory - can you talk to some residents or attendings that were able to find positions?

Good luck!

How many programs did you interview at? You've got okay board scores if you presented well at the interviews.
