Pitt's average students have a 20 AA, 21 PAT, 3.6 sGPA and 3.54 oGPA
Penn's average students have a 21 AA, 21 PAT, 3.61 sGPA and 3.55 oGPA

So as you can tell the two schools are pretty comparable and you're numbers are average at both schools. Assuming you apply early enough you should have a very good chance at admission.

Be careful when you say people have a very good chance for admission. If you stay on SDN awhile, you realize its not just DAT and GPA. People get rejected for all sorts of reasons even though they have the right stats.

His stats are that of an average student, he has a pretty good shot at getting in. I don't know how else to phrase that his stats are pretty typical. Yes random things can happen here and there, but he will most likely get in unless something bad happens 🙂 happy mr nitpicker?

This is going to come off as fairly arrogant, but I don't care. I'll give it to you straight.

I interviewed at both schools, and I noticed a couple things during my interviews:

-Both schools' candidates had similar overall stats
-Those with low(er) stats (3.5ish, 19s) at UPenn had insane credentials: one was an olympic athlete, three had a few major publications, most went to highly ranked undergrads and took crazy majors, etc.
-those with low(er) stats at Pitt...just had lower stats. I was very turned off by the fact that they were interviewing obviously sub-par to mediocre candidates. Most people at my lunch table were relatively unimpressive: 5 community college transfer students, 2 people were gunning for LECOM, and a couple were double applying to podiatry school.

To me, it's important for me to feel as though I am surrounded by people equally as driven; I didn't get that feeling at Pitt, despite the fact that they have similar overall stats.

Both schools are great schools. Your stats are almost exactly like mine, and I got into both, but with lots of EC activities. Good luck!

Thank you! By the way, that's impressive that you got into both of these schools.
