Just finished retaking my DATs and unfortunately did not do much better:

() new scores

PAT: 23(19)
QR:18(17)
RC:20(20)
BIO:18(20)
GC:20(22)
OC:21(21)
TS:19(20)
AA:19(20)

I have about a 3.47 overall gpa and a science gpa of 3.43. Pretty disappointed in the retake scores especially with the significant drop in PAT and qr; but I am wondering whether or not I have a shot in for UOP, UCSF and other Cali schools. Have about 130 shadowing hours. Total extra curriculars + 2 research positions: 400 hours. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

I think you are about average for most of the Cali schools. However, UCLA and UCSF have about a 3.6, 21-22AA average for their last years class so not too sure about those two. Id say read the guide for the last years entering class and choose some more schools, prob add some privates as well.

good shot at USC, western, or loma
UCSF and UOP still within reach
less of a chance for UCLA but still possible

but if you are from a CSU then just give up (lol jk)

Western is going to be a tough one for even an instate student from what Im seeing (1000 applied in state, 300 interviewed, accepted 123). USC is a good bet but still tough (1100 in state applied, 316 interviewed, 165 accepted).

Does the school matter that much? I go to Uc Berkeley...definitely hurt my gpa. Do you guys also know how schools take into account community college classes. I took 15 units worth in middle school and didnt do so well; did quite some damage to my overall gpa

Here are the stats for some of the cali schools you mentioned (ogpa/sgpa/AA/TS/PAT):
UOP: (3.4/3.4/21/21/21)
UCSF: (3.5/3.5/21/21/21)
UCLA : ( 3.7/3.6/22/22/22)

IMO you are competitive for western and USC, UCLA and UCSF are probably reaches. You can figure out where you stand with the school's stats but you know how random dental admissions can be.

Buy the ADA school guide. It tells you everything from average stats to if AP classes are counted/ CCollege credits.

Everything you have taken goes into your ogpa/sgpa. As far as I know, I don't think schools differentiate what contributes to your GPA unless they actually look at your transcript.

Thanks for the responses: If I can also ask your opinion my school list and whether or not i should apply to more schools.
So far, I have: AZ,MWU,LLU,UCLA,UCSF,USC,UOP,Western,LECOM,BU,TUFS,UNLV,MICH,NYU,OSU,OHSU,TEMP,PENN
