Hi guys,

I'm currently doing a master in biology and have a 4.0 GPA 26 credits so far. Unfortunately for undergrad my GPA was a 3.2o and 3.0s which is why I didn't apply for dental school last year. I'm hoping the master is enough but I know its not a special MSP so would this lower my chances? I could try to get into a sMSP since I do have a gap year or do something else like research or dental job. I just wanted to hear if anyone went through the same path and got into dental school.

Some extra background stuffs:
6 months of shadowing general dentist
1 year of neurology research with poster presentations
tons of leadership positions
volunteer at hospital for 3 years for total of 200 hours
Community college for associate then transfer for bachelor
retook courses I got C in at community college in Chem 2, Ochem 1&2, and a business class (I didn't have enough money after paying for master so my only choice was community college, hopefully this is doesn't cause any negativity for my application)
DAT 22AA, 20TS

I would appreciate any opinion about dental schools and sMSP. Thank you!

I don't think it won't matter much since people do SMPs to boost their GPA in a short amount of time instead of taking couple years writing thesis and doing lab work.

I know couple people who did regular Masters and got into dental schools so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you for the response. Thats what I was hoping too. So I'm probably gotta work as a dental assistant during the gap year.
