Chances for DO schools and possible school list?

Hey everyone!

I have a 3.81 cGPA 3.85 sGPA & 25 MCAT (8/7/10). I have decent ECs and am currently shadowing a DO (expect to get a LOR from him). Did summer research internships for two consecutive summers and one year research at my university. ~150 hrs clinical volunteering, ~100 hrs non-clinical volunteering. Numerous leadership positions in clubs. How are my chances? Which DO schools should I aim for? BTW CA resident.

Do you think I'll have more of a chance at a school in CA, like Western? Even though they're MCAT average is around 28

A 25 MCAT isn't going to sink you, but it won't help either. Your GPA is solid and will hopefully catch the eye of the ADCOM. You need to do research on the schools you would like to attend. I think you have a shot at some good D.O. schools, but always apply broadly.

And yes, you can still get into Western. My friend goes there and she had a 3.5/24.

apply to 12-15 schools of your liking. COMP, Touro-NV, SOMA are good starts.
