Chances of acceptance?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
you have a great chance, but can I assume you call it "pot" so you still smoke it like it's no big deal lol. be careful.

A write up is a loads better than a criminal record. Good luck this cycle, OP, and nice work on the DAT.

🤣What would you prefer s/he call it? Cannibus?

I'm sure a ton of people have gotten in with a write up. And these are doctors at the university, they all wish they could prescribe the Mary Jane. Plus, they grew up during the 70s and 80's, they see that you smoked and they'll give you a story about the time they did so much reefer at Woodstock they could fly. Check out The Dude, he's with you on this. Smoking on that good green won't stop you from getting in as long as you never get caught again.

got caught for "marijuana possession?" thought it might sound a little more mature. From my experience I've only heard people who use it regularly call it "pot". Wasn't meant to be offensive. If he is a regular user still, I was suggesting he get his act straight and work hard from now on cuz he has a great chance of getting in, don't want to screw that up.

Im thinking of applying to UCSF, Loma Linda, UNLV, colorado, western, pacific, Arizona, Oregon, creighton

Any thoughts on my chances of acceptance?

The write up for pot will be no big deal at all. I bet you dont even have to include that. I got in with a criminal background (alcohol related only) so you are for sure good to go

Our stats our identical except my sGPA is a little higher. I have 3 interviews, so if you apply to the right schools you should be able to gather some interviews as well.

You do realize that working hard and consuming marijuana are not mutually exclusive, right? "Get his act straight"? Your opinion on the matter sounds out of touch and rather antiquated.

Yes, people can work hard and also smoke weed. It's my opinion that it's not good for professionalism and I still stand by it. I answered his question objectively and also added a little bit of my opinion about weed users. Unless you take it as such, it wasn't meant to be a personal attack or offensive whatsoever. Stay on topic.

Weed/pot/marijuana is certainly not professional, but if OP keeps it in his personal life without it interfering into his work life then what is the harm? If he can get drunk in his own home then he can most certainly fly high in his home as well. So many people think it's terrible if you're a professional, but what they don't tell you is it's only terrible if that personal life overflows into work life. Smoke responsibly.
