Hey everyone!

I want to post my stats and get some real feedback about my likelihood of being accepted into MCPHS or any other pharmacy school.
University of MI 2014 graduate - BA in behavioral sciences with a 3.3 GPA
5 years medical experience, no pharmacy experience
Science GPA 3.0 and cummalitive GPA is 3.0
I started at a cc and transferred to a university then returned to cc bc it was affordable

Physics : A
Orgo 1 : B
Micro : A
Calc: C
Gen Chem 1: C
Gen Chem 2: B+
A&P : B
Molecular Bio : C
Stats: B
Macro: C

Currently registered in Orgo 2 and orgo lab

I retook physics, micro, gen chem 1, calculus. I initially had D's in micro and physics but got an A the second time around and initally had a C in gen chem 1 but bc I took that class a few years ago I decided to retake it to refresh my memory but still earned a C.
Recently took the PCAT and got a 388 composite score 🙁

Please let me know what you think

don't worry too much about it

a 3.0 GPA is more than fine, so is your PCAT score. Most people that get accepted to pharmacy school have many C's and also had to retake classes.
you will 100% definitely get multiple interviews, just do okay on those interviews and you will get in.

Don't stress. You good.

MCPHS doesn't look at pcat. What was your percentile composite?

Here are my scores:

SS / PR
VA: 390 / 30
Bio: 396 / 35
Reading Comp: 378 / 16
Quant Ability: 384 / 16
Chemistry: 392 /34
Composite: 388 /20

I just took the pcat a few days ago and these scores are from the prelim report. Do these numbers sometimes change on the official report?

These scores look fairly poor, at least in terms of the percentile ranking. Basically how you did, percentage wise, in comparison to your fellow PCAT takers.
I would consider either taking it again (obviously prepare beforehand) or applying to a school that doesn't require PCAT.

High suggest you retake the pcat unless you are applying to non-pcat schools which, you need to compensate in that case with extacurriculars, job experience, grades, and etc.

Yeah, I'll definitely apply to the schools that dont require the pcat. I dont have time to retake it because most schools application deadline is March or April and I think the next pcat is in July. I guess my best bet is to apply to the schools that dont require the pcat

I am so stressed lol because my composite percentile is so low 🙁

Definitely apply to a lot of schools that don't requite the PCAT (California schools)

But even so, trust me when I say that I know people with low GPAs and barely started volunteering at a pharmacy in their LAST YEAR of undergrad
that were accepted into multiple programs.

Even with a low PCAT, there are literally 140 pharmacy schools..... I am sure you will get into at least 1 of them if you apply broadly.

Thanks for the info! That boosted my confidence!

Look at their grade replacement policies also, if you retook courses some schools will only count the highest grade.
