Hi everyone:

I'm a 26 year old Dental Student studying in the Philippines. I'm a U.S. Citizen expecting to graduate this April and was hoping to apply to IDP Programs immediately after graduating.

Will being newly graduated put me at a disadvantage against other applicants? Do schools prefer applicants with clinical experience?

Any advice you can give this troubled student would be greatly appreciated.

Hey being freshly graduate will not consider as disadvantage. But if you planning to apply for IDP programs after graduation you will have to finish national boards, at least part 1. Clearing both boards will you added advantage. You also have to get your grade evaluation done before you appear for national boards. On top op that most universities prefer you have toefl score 100 or above. The path is not simple but if you focus and work hard it will make it easier. Hope this helps!
