Hey all,
Just wondering how my stats look?
I am applying University of Kentucky Early Decision FYI
Undergraduate GPA - 2.61 (B.S. Human Biology)
Graduate GPA - 3.43 (Master's in Pharmacology and Toxicology)
PCAT
Verbal Ability - 78%
Biology - 95%
Reading Comprehension - 81%
Quantitative Ability - 61%
Chemistry - 76%
Composite - 85%

I have done two Mission trips (not exclusively for Pharmacy) that involved Pharmacy.
I have shadowed 3 Pharmacist's for around 20 hours (Already have scheduled more)
I am retaking classes I did poorly in, so I should have a boost in my undergraduate GPA and in my Graduate GPA after this Fall.
My LOR's are from two Pharmacist's (one was previously the Director of Pharmacy at our hospital in Grand Rapids) and one from a health professional (from one of my trips, Director of a Pediatric Unit in a hospital).

Extracurriculars. I have about 400 hours, between clubs, trips, and volunteer work. I have about 20 hours of Pharmacy shadowing between 3 Pharmacists (more if you include the trips). I am not sure if I should include my work in my Fraternity, but that adds up to over 1,000 hours (and includes Philanthropic work).

Also, Work Experience, 5 different jobs since 2006. I have over 2,000 hours easily with all the jobs. I am not sure if I should list the Dentist's I shadowed (10+) in my shadowing. I don't have 20 listed items, so I am thinking I will put them at the bottom?

I know my GPA is low (retaking classes) and it doesn't look competitive, but I feel like my PCAT score and the fact I am working on a Master's in a related field will hopefully overshadow those.

Thoughts?

Also, I attended Michigan State University (GO GREEN), if that matters.

This is like telling people how much money you have and asking them what you should buy. I'd so some research myself and check out stats of each school, then make a list of schools and ask about your chances.

Google "pharmacy schools in X", where X is any state you would be willing to go to pharm school in. Then look over their websites.

Things to look at:

Duration: 3 yr vs 4 yr
Cost: State vs Private
Location: Moving expenses, etc.
Accredited: If not, how long until it will be?

Then just apply. Though you already did ED, which limits you applying to others until you get a response from that school.

Good advice guys. I was an idiot and forgot to mention that I am applying to the following schools, assuming UKCOP doesn't grant me an early acceptance:

Ferris State University
University of Hawaii
University of Michigan
Regis University

I have also looked at:

Auburn
Howard
Touro (NY)
X - School in California that I'd have a shot in getting into....I have family sporadically located all over. I have researched them but it seems like everyone has a very specific opinion about California schools, in particular.
I already have been working on a Pros/Cons page, but I figure I can be a little slow with it, considering the ED to UK.

Any thoughts from here?
