Hi everyone,

I am getting ready to apply this coming June 2nd when AADSAS opens up and I am a little bit worried. Right now my GPA is at a 3.353 with DAT scores of 19AA, 20TS, 20 Bio, 20 chem, 21 Ochem, 17 reading, 19 math, 20 PAT. I have an upward trend with my GPA (freshmen first quarter had 2.2 GPA). I am involved in a lot of extra-curriculars such as my pre-health advising club (pre dental peer mentor), a tutor, program coordinator for my dental club, volunteer at a clinic, shadowing, basketball captain for intramural team, etc. Also planning to attend a program called "Inside UCSF" this coming April (not sure if this is an extracurricular) How many schools should I apply to be safe? and what are my chances? Thanks for the advice in advance everyone 🙂

There's no way to guarantee that you will be "safe," but I would suggest applying to at least 10 schools. Your stats are okay, but not spectacular.

I know my stats are sub-par :/ Just hoping for the best

The more schools you apply to the better your chances will be

Your state school(s). The huge, private dental schools: Boston, NYU, Temple, USC. Then do your research and see what other schools catch your eye. Try to apply (and COMPLETE SECONDARIES) for 8 schools.

Currently I am looking at USC, Western, ASDOH, LECOM, NYU, Boston, TUfts. Not really sure what others.
