Hello everyone,

Crunch time here. So I have a 3.5 from Syracuse university, got my mcat scores back on 24th July (yesterday) and I was absolutely stunned by what I got. I was easily, consistently averaging 30-32 on the practice Mcats by AMCAS, but I did extremely horrible. Got a 20S. I am definitely taking my Mcats again, hopefully soon (within 3 weeks). I'm assuming there was a huge blunder when I took my exam. But in case, my score doesn't improve by much, what do u guys think of my chances at Saint George or Ross.

Just like everyone else, I have tons of ECs, but I doubt that would be I any help, especially when they sart reviewing the apps. On top of that, I have pretty solid recs.

Any of you guys know of my chances based on my current stats!? That's considering my 20S.

Thanks a lot in advance

I think I figured out your problem, you were studying for the wrong test, it is the MCAT, so ditch all those Mcats study materials and focus on the correct exam

I needed a good laugh and that was perfect... Good ole' fashion smart ass joke.

That's sad to hear about your test.

At St. George's or Ross I'm sure you'd have a chance, but I don't really know enough to say how much. I do know that a 20 will be screened out of many MD and DO schools.

It's a pretty big hurdle but if you come back to your average on the next test it will show the adcoms that it was just a fluke. Try to find out what happened on that test day! If you bring it back up, I'm sure you'd have chance at many schools other than the Caribbean ones.

Good luck.

Do you have any idea what caused you to score that way?

If you did all the AMCAS practice tests and averaged in the 30s, perhaps you had a bad day?

agreed, but here is the thing. I thought i knew all the material, did fine on practice tests and ended up with this!! now i dont even believe in myself and what if i actually do stand at 20 (+-2), that way i would ruin my chances because writing mcat 3 times could possibly be the worst thing to do!

and i am willing to go to carrabean if i get into MPH/MD program? any idea if i will be considered for that program with these stats?

could be!! but after that, i just dont think i am capable of anything better than that!! WHAT IF I ACTUALLY STAY AT 20 AND CANT IMPROVE MY SECOND TIME EITHER? that would mean end of MD hopes!
btw any idea about the MD MPH program?

i wont mind going to ross or st george for that!
