Okay

3.0ish overall
3.1ish Pre-req
(Science major, with OChems, Microbio's ect..)
152Q 149V 3.0 analytic
Hours:
50 Acute Rehab 50 Acute Behavioral 50 In-patient and working as a PT aide ~ 700 hours

I graduated this past spring and am applying for next fall. My last 60 is significantly better than my overall (3.5+ most likely). My overall took a hit from the first few.

I'm looking at pittsburgh schools, philly schools and some new york programs.

Some honest evaluations would be nice. Also, I've been trying to phone some of the schools and talking to them about my application and other things. Should I mention my GPA concern?

you need to retake some prereq's, but you def need to find a way to make a stronger application.

If you don't mind going anywhere for school, I would apply for some schools that just look at your GPA for your last 60 credits since you said that GPA is much better than the overall. If you have time, I would also retake the GRE and some of the prerequisites.

I used to think getting into PT school was super hard or something but if you're willing to pay outrageous tuition and/or move wherever, you can get in somewhere. I've seen NYIT accept lower stats. Consider apply outside that region too. Check these guys out:

I was thinking of looking into Nova. Also getting Kinesio cert and a few others. I was in a wrestling club in college and a few other non-science related clubs. Working on a startup company ect.. Which is in some misc. section of my apps. I was looking at NYIT but I would really like to stay in-state (no room to be picky, I know). I am going to visit some of the schools in person as I live in the city, maybe help prove that I will be a strong student that will reflect in a good manner on their program. In the meantime, anything I could perhaps do for the apps this cycle?

Pitt, Duquesne, Chatham, Arcadia, Temple, Widner, Thomas Jefferson

Was looking at:

Nova, NYIT, maybe USA. Perhaps a few other out of state schools. The GRE I plan to re-take, however, for most schools in the fall cycle the date has passed. I work full time as a tech right now so I had a little trouble making time for the GRE, but eventually completed it.

Retake some prerequisites. You have the hours and experience so don't try to get more. Your GRE is okay, but retaking it might not be a bad idea. If you study for it for a few more hours and raise your score it'll be worth your time.

So would you recommend calling the schools and voicing my GPA concerns as well as interest within the school?

Also, are PTCAS GPAS typically lower? And do schools take those into account or their own?

Any advice on calling schools and trying to voice my GPA?

Yes I would contact different schools and relay any questions that you have directly to them. Definitely apply out of region and do your research, there are schools that have accepted stats like yours!
