ok first of all let me say i am not planning to apply to any outrageously competitive schools afterall i currently have a 2.8 overall gpa. I am coming to the end of a semester where i currently have all As, I am a post bacc student. My plan is to get my gpa up to a 3.2. I am working as a lab technician intern testing candles ( know it sounds weird but it involves alot of organic chemistry) i am also planning to do research this summer......and building up on shadowing/volunteer hours at a local clinic.

i am pretty much taking all of my prerequisites over along with additional science classes to boost my overall and science gpa. am i doing the right thing? or is there an easier way? i am running out of time. I am really scared that i am heading down the wrong path...and wasting money. I am paying for this eduction so i don't want to waste money. any ppl in my situation??

I graduated from a good school (duke university) and yes i know my gpa is terrible. I am african american and yes i will be considering meharry and howard, even i REALLY REALLY REALLY DONT want to go there and would like to get accepted to a better school. someone give me advice......

Hey!!!

Well my friend we have the same undergrad gpa but I am applying to only one school. I am applying to UIC since I am from Chicago 🙂. Why don't you want to go to those schools? lol I feel ya though.😉 What are your DAT scores? Based on your post bac gpa I think you should get in somewhere.

Good luck

Oh and I am also applying to a bunch of post bac and masters programs. Check out Temple University's and University of Connecticut's pre dental post bac. They guarantee admission to their school after a year of prep courses and retaking the DAT. But you have to maintain a certain gpa in the post bac and get a certain DAT score to be admitted.
