I'm just curious how other students at other schools change for anatomy lab.

At PCOM, there is a "lockerroom" where all the lockers are kept (but not really design for changing, so it's not really a lockerroom). Anyway, it's coed. Well, some guys/girls would take their scrubs and go into the bathroom down the hallway, but most just change right in front of their locker. It's just faster that way.

Anyway, I'm curious as to how other schools do it? Do they have real lockerrooms (seperated by gender), lockerrooms (coed), lockers in hallways (and students change in the hallways), a changing room outside anatomy lab, etc?

At Temple we had lockers in a common area, so most people just went in the bathrooms to change. At least, that's what the girls did... 😉

At the University of Arkansas we have separate male and female locker rooms. When you have 90 guys in the room at once it gets very crowded! Most people usually change into scrubs in the locker room. It's really just like high school football all over again!

our locker rooms are co-ed, but the girls are on one end, and the boys on the other. So if you see an opposite sex walking by you just pull your pants up faster.

we have anatomy off campus so everyone is changed once they get there and most own 3 sets of scrubbs we got second hand. most just wear scrubs to school M, W, F cause we're lazy.

we actually got an email telling us not to change in the hallway since people do have offices where we are located.

can you imagine having an office below a room with over 50 dead bodies in it?

We dont even have locker rooms (they are being renovated right now). So they guys change in the "bone room" (contains a bunch of skeletons to view) and the girls change in their old locker room so no coed here.

We just have long white labcoats that we wear over whatever we wore to classes in the morning. Most of us, however, have learned to wear our not-best clothes on gross lab days. 🙂 So there isn't changing, just putting on labcoats.

No locker room at my school! 😱 We just change into scrubs in the bathroom.

i just wear what i wear to class into the lab. i find the smell of the cadavers and preservative fluid drives the ladies nuts!

At Southwestern our study carrels are one florr above the anatomy lab. Every one just changes in there. Guys and gals just change in front of each other. Nobody minds. It is no big deal. Not everything in life has to turn sexual.

at the U of Minnesota we have locker rooms segregated by gender. We share a locker with our same-sex body buddy.

everyone from my school changes in the hallway outside the anatomy lab

haha! us too! or if we're really desperate to change, we use the bathrooms. - we've had a few complaints about the noise & nakedness in the corridors, tho...

damn TMS that sounds scandalous...i sure wish i went to your school 😀

drexel. gender-separated locker rooms located just outside the lab. no problems.

Gender separated, but very small locker rooms here. We sort of have to go in shifts.

we all just come to school in our scrubs. easy enough.

We had a coed "lockerroom" where everyone just dressed. Unfortunately for me, none of the hot girls were on my row of lockers. Of course, I'm sure no one got any great thrills if they took time to check me out either, so i guess it kind of evens out.

I was touring the locker rooms and gross lab during orientation and the students said that was to be expected. I never that I would be in a coed locker room. I am all ready trying to find ways out of it.
What other surprises will i see in the next few weeks?

Everyone seems so sensitive about changing in hallways. Being in your boxers for a total of 10 seconds doesn't seem like such a big deal. Or maybe it's just that I've been desensitized to it from my years in marching band, 45 guys and girls changing on a schoolbus, you don't keep your inhibitions for long.

Why change at all? The smell still gets in your hair and on your skin so changing clothes is useless. Plus I hated putting clean clothes on without taking a shower after gross lab. Maybe it's just me...

I agree with Panda! In Ireland/UK, no one changes for anatomy lab... We just wear "howie" style lab coats (the ones that button up to the neck and with elasticated cuffs) and gloves obviously! Generally, there's only a residual smell on your hands after lab unless you are particularly careless!! Or are cadavers in the US more smelly than elsewhere?

first 2 months i would change into my "special" :anatomy sweats and teeshirt and change again after lab. they reeked like hell and every time i put them on i could feel and smell the oil and the dead people. anyway, then i started wearing scrubbs and coat, not changing after and then washing the scrubs when i got home. it was fine. for some reason, the scrubs did not absorb the smell as much. ahhh memmories....

most guys changed in the hallway and the girls in the bathrooms..
