wow - what are the odds that the Chosen Six (sounds like a movie title) are all here on SDN! I still don't even know if I am among the chosen. I am waiting to hear what Mimi finds out.

Hi i called them again today. Nothing new. I wasn't able to speak to Norma. Was told the class was full. The lady that answered the phone was kind of cold. I guess it is a wait-and-see game.

so why not reject us already... i mean if the class is full why make us wait so long... at least give us a letter stating that the class is full and we think you're well qualified and that you are automatically accepted if a space opens up 🙄

eh... not knowing one's status for almost four months.... they should honestly should give us some closure... 👍

Woo hoo.. another month. Maybe we will get scholarships for exhibiting such amazing patience!

Hey Everyone! Has anyone heard anything? I have not heard anything, but as of a week ago, when I talked to Norma, she said the class was not full. She said they were trying to make decisions about the remaining applications. She gave me a 2-3 week period for notification. I am hoping this is the case. 😉

well, I have found a place in Chicago, and am sending in the application for it now. If this doesn't speed up the process at Drew, I don't know what will.

Are you Catholic?

2-3 week notification??? umm so pretty much after June 15th lol... okay... hopefully we will know by then... gosh I mean I will be waiting for 4 months this saturday already... I don't know the whole process is draining...

no word for that long really makes you disgruntled 😱

Nope - not Catholic, not even Christian. I still totally loved the school and if I don't get the call from Drew, will be quite happy going there. That being said, Drew, if you are reading this, and were planning on giving me an acceptance, it would save me a bunch of money if you did it BEFORE I signed a lease in Chicago...

Norma says the class is not yet full, but yet the other staffs say it is full. What is going on. After waiting for 4 months i just hope that the wait was all worth it.

The truth is, the school is not real. It is all part of a psychological experiment. SDN is how they monitor us. I have to go put more tin foil on my head so they can't control my thoughts. Mommy? Stop the voices. :meanie: :meanie:

I still can't believed that some of you haven't heard back...that really sucks 👎 .

We shouldn't be TOO rough on them. They have only had 12 months with my application. I had a LOT of ECs, and it may have taken them a full year to read all about each of them. lol.

Ok! I was just wondering b/c my advisor told me that Catholic schools give priority to students who attended Catholic Schools

what is this catholic discussion about??? just out of curiousity...

yes elastase it sucks that there is six of us with NO decision at all!

i tried to find info/another thread about drew's decision making process but there is none so i don't know if they are always slow or what...

i actually feel negleted/unloved by drew... i mean you would think that having no decision is a good thing BUT in actually it messes with your brain...

hand me over that tin foil you have on your head flop... i need it too!

If we get in, can we delay paying our tuition by the same length of time that they delayed making a decision? lol.

I was searching today on SDN forum and i came acrossed a Drew Thread in 2004. Just browsing via the thread, i realised that some students did not even hear back from them after school had begun. We might not even here anything.

Anybody call this week? I vow to not let them forget about me.

Flop, call and share the news with us. I would call on friday.

I called last week - don't want to be a pest. I think it is somebody elses turn this week. I am planning on calling again on the 15th or so. I figure every two weeks is reasonable.

last time i called i was rejected on the phone 😱 and then when i tried to confirm my rejection norma said i wasn't 🙄 so i don't know... i will try to give them a call after the 15th... i think (hopefully) by then people will withdraw or something

I think it depends on who you talk to. When I talked to Desiree, she led me to believe I was rejected. When no letter came, I called Norma, and was led to believe that I was NOT rejected, and that they were "still trying to fill one more space."

I really have no idea what is going on with them - but it is frustrating.

Its just like other schools. I'm sure that they have many ppl that are in the program, that if they get accepted into another school off of the waitlist (i.e. ucsf) they would drop the Drew program. The Drew program needs to have ppl on the waitlist until the day school actually starts. Whats weird about Drew is that they haven't notified you that you are on the waitlist...

I could totally understand waiting - if I was on a waitlist. That makes sense. I am not even on a waitlist though. I am in lala land. Mysteriously floating around on Norma's desk - with no destination in site. Wow... that was a hecka incomplete sentence.

Did anyone hear anything new lately from Drew?

hey guys. i spoke to norma today and she said that apparently my app is still under review (i specifically asked if i was on the waitlist and she said that i wasn't). she said that the class is not full. they are trying to fill the 24 spots and that we should hopefully know more by the end of the week. she sounded overwhelmed so i didn't even ask her how many people were still under review (i don't even know what that means exactly).

Thanks for the update? Did you interview back in feb too?

Grr. All I have to say. Grr. I still have heard nothing. Crickets.

OK.. so it is time for our weekly roll call - anybody hear anything this week? I have the following people on my roster - am I missing anybody, or anybody hear anything? (waitlist, rejection, acceptance?)

I hate medical schools when they do this to people. They know that people are waiting and it is like they are playing with lives. They can have the courtesy to write everyone especially a school like Drew that only interviews a few students. It wouldn't take much to give an update letter. I went through this with Drew last year. Good luck to each and every one of you.

yeah - it is a MAJOR pain. I think part of it is systemic though. There should be a hard and fast rule for ALL schools that by June 1st (12 months after the start of application season) every slot is filled, and there is no more movement allowed. It would make the move easier for everybody, and there wouldn't be any students settling into school after frantically having moved cross country the night before.

Drew has reviewed all the files in its holding but a decision hasn't been made. When a spot opens up, they review the files again and then choose someone for acceptance. I wa told this process might continue until the first day of school (August 7). So, we might not hear anything until august 7.

hmm.. you would think it would end on the first day of orientation (which is at the end of July).

I just called Norma a minute ago & she told me the same thing. She told me that my application has been ranked, that I am on a pile in the Dean's office, and he can make the final decision at any time up until the first day of school in August. I asked her pointedly if I was on a waitlist and she said no. At any time the Dean can reject, waitlist, or reject my application.
However, she told me that the class was not full. This is very weird since it seems from your post that there were no spots. I don't know what to make of this but this was my "every three weeks" call. I am contemplating not doing it again. Mentally, it is exhausting to keep holding on for something that is going to start so soon but you may not be a part of.
Oh Well, Que Sera! 😕

so frustrating. I wish it all settles soon though - I can't imagine having to look for a place to live, coordinate moving, declining my acceptance at another school, breaking a lease in a new city, etc etc with just a few days before school starts. Grrrr.... what would I do without SDN to vent!

So how long do we wait until we start to get cranky?

I don't think they have empty spots, from my conversation with Norma. She didn't say so directly.

It seems to me that they might not even know if they have spots or not. I don't understand why they are so hesitant to just officially waitlist people, and instead insist on playing this "you aren't waitlisted, we are still considering you" game when clearly, we are actually waitlisted.

Anybody else considering withdrawing from consideration from Drew because it is just frankly getting too close to when class would start? I mean, how long would it take to get financial aid arranged, housing arranged etc if they called right now?

Unless you have a seat already you should NEVER withdraw your name from consideration. Plus you can always deffer a year if accepted. But don't ever pull your name from consideration if this is a dream of yours.

i'm watching 'so you think you can dance' and waiting for drew. this is such a sad summer 🙁

Oh I have a seat at a different school already (and am VERY happy and thankful about it - got into one of my top choices). I am just quite frustrated at this whole process. It is nearly the end of June, and not so much as a waitlist letter after a February interview. Boo hiss.

I'm going to LA tomorrow to look for housing ... I'm thinking of you all and will send urgent "make a decision" vibes toward Drew and Norma in particular. Hang in there! 😍

Ugh - the new application cycle posts are clogging the first page leaving no room for the trusty ole Drew thread.

i don't understand the drew process... you would think after JUNE 15th they would give word to us... but unfortunately no....

i have actually given up on ever hearing from them...

don't worry flop and others a friend of mine said that people drop until school starts... i've unfortunately heard the same rumors from norma... that files are in Dr. Parker's office and i don' tknow but honestly did our files get neglected???

good luck to all this week!
