Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if there was another way to learn all of the DAT reading comprehension skills/strategies without purchasing DAT Bootcamp. I am really pressed for money and so buying DAT Bootcamp as of now is not an option. I have study materials for every section except for RC and I have only spent $330 and I can't really afford to spend much more. Also, I haven't been exposed to any kind of math in a really long time and I needed a source to learn everything for the DAT. Do Chad's QR videos contain everything that I need to know for the DAT and are they any good?

OC and GC: Chad's Videos ($50 subscription)
Bio: Cliff AP 3rd Edition and Ferralis (Free)
PAT: PAT Booster ($80)
QR: Chad's Videos ($50 subscription)
RC: ?
DAT Destroyer + Math Destroyer: $200

Thank you

No amount of test taking is truly going to help you with the reading. No one knows exactly what type of passage you will get or exactly what strategy or what will work, there are many many versions of the DAT. Some are simple search and destroyer and others you must read the passage and comprehend.

The goal is to increase reading speed and comprehension levels and this can be easily accomplished by old fashion reading. If you dedicate just 30 minutes a day to reading while preparing for the DAT that's a lot of reading accomplished over the course of your preparation. Make it a habit to read just before bed, not on a computer or phone but an actual book or magazine, it will also help fall asleep. Old school still works for certain things. From experience trying to predict a score for reading using a timed test is more or less a crap shoot, too many variables are possible..

We do post free reading passages in our study group daily, you might also find that helpful. You have the Destroyers, just make sure you do ALL the work, don't be afraid of the Destroyer,it's a challenging book but so is the DAT

Wishing you the best.

Thank you so much for that! I recently picked up a booked called, "The Toxic Tooth". I will start by reading that!

🙂 a student that I helped a few years back got 29 in reading and she told me she read national geographic magazines! You just have to read, "The Toxic Tooth" sounds interesting, but what matter is that it is interesting to you and that you read it!
