Does anyone know of any somewhat prestigious, competitive colleges that offer online courses for relatively cheap? I did most of my degree at a non-impressive state school, so it would be ideal for me to take more courses at a more competitive one.

Ideally, I'd take a course from a college that has a med school I'd like to go to, but their courses cost around $7,000 for a single 4 credit course. My local state school, on the other hand, only charges ~$1,000 for a 4 credit course online. Do you know of any somewhat competitive/prestigious colleges that offer online courses and might cost less than $7,000 for a 4-credit course?

Yes, I realize that I can't be so squeamish about debt if I want to go to med school, but I feel like there's a difference between going into massive amounts of debt to become a doctor vs. to take some extra undergraduate courses in hopes of impressing med schools enough to get in, which might well be futile.

Also, if you know where I can find free unicorns, let me know. :luck:

No one will be impressed by an online class, no matter where you took it. In fact most places won’t even recognize pre-reqs which were taken online, much less be impressed by them.

I wouldn’t worry to much about degree from a “non-impressive” state school. As long as you did well on the MCAT no one is going to doubt your intelligence.
