Cheapest Med Schools For Oos

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
baylor college of medicine. oos tuition is roughly $20k/year. plus, if you buy a condo and change your car registration, etc, you can establish texas residency in a year.....in state tution is something like $6,650/year.

Texas, texas, texas. Sometimes the tuition for OOS is cheaper than in-state....or at least UTSW sometimes pulls a deal like that.

ah, well luckily, im actually from texas... So i was wondering about other states?

typically the cheap OOS schools only accept in-state applicants, or rarely accept OOS applicants.

Arkansas is cheap for OOS applicants though.

Baylor most definitely. However, although they aren't under the 90% in-state Texas law, 75% of applicants are still in-state and it's the most competitive med school in Texas.

Good luck to that though. 😛

Although, if you get into a Texas school and they give you a $1000 scholarship, you can pay in-state tuition. Weird, I know.

That's what I was referring to above....sweet deal.

I think Mayo was around 12-15K (if you didn't get scholarships which is rare) for oos, but I think they are raising all tution after next year to about 30K

What are the cheapest med-schools for Out-of-State students?

stanford

average debt for 2005 graduates was ~$66,000. Tuition is high like anywhere else, but they have unique ways of helping you lower that debt (TAships, research scholarships, etc).

But then again, Cali has some of the highest gas prices around. I doubt it's gonna be like that for long.

UNC gives instate tuition after your first year.

There might be some other schools like that but you'd have to check each individually.

~12k OOS. I heard about the increases next year as well... more than just inflationary increase, so we'll see what happens...
