Its been discussed before. Search the forums for Network54 I believe. It is just one or a few unsuccessful individual(s) trying to blame their lack of success on the profession. I do not believe thier views to be representative of the majority of practicing professionals.

If this person put half as much effort into his education and training as he did his whining, he'd be an extremely successful pod!

Not going to lie, but that site kinda scares me. I want to be a Pod cause it sounds like a career I can truly be happy in, and yes part of that is due to a salary around 80k, the chance for more family life, and the interesting cases i might get to see (sports injuries!).

Are pods not really in demand, and what about that 35k salary to start, how to pay of loans???

Hearing that I might be being lied too, that isnt good. Anyone else out there that can truly negate what this person is saying?

PS I understand not everything is perfect...but this person is making it sound like the worst decision of my life!

If any of this were true of the profession, don't you think you'd be hearing about it from someone or something other than some random website or a few bitter people?

I met a few people who graduated from Pod school, they are not living large, but they don't seem to be going hungry either. I heard a lot of worse things about Chiropractic medicine. Obviously people know MDs and DOs a lot more as there is a lot of media exposure to what they do.

Of course you can fail as a podiatrist... you can fail at anything. That website was from 2000, and it's pretty clear the guy spends a whole lot more time whining than he does reading journal articles. I stand by what I said there in the other thread... you get out what you put in.
