We are working on a fixed prosthodontics practical 2nd year dental school. I made the prep for 12x14, took impression and made cast out of jade stone. The trimmed cast looks slanted. When I mount it on the articulator although I feel that the upper and lower casts are in contact, visually the cast still looks tilted. How can I make sure that the casts are in contact before I start waxing for the bridge. Please help.

Can you be more specific as to how to use the articulating paper, what teeth etc.

Take a strip of articulating paper about 2" long. Place it 1st along the occlussal surfaces of the teeth on the right side (2-6, 27-31) then "tap" your upper and lower casts together a few times, just like you'd ask a patient to do to check the vertical contacts. Then release the stops on your articulator and move the casts laterally to simulate excursive movements.

Move the articulating paper then to the anterior teeth (6-11, 22-27) and repeat the same motions, and then move the articulating paper to the left side (11-15, 18-22) and repeat the same motions.

That's all you need to do

How did you mount it? Fakebow or Facebow?
