how many faradays are required for the redyction of 2 mol of Fe 3+ to Fe (S) ? i choosed 579,000F but coorect answer is 6F ! iam wondering what;s difernt between these two answers !!!

1 Faraday = 96,495 C/mol

1 faraday = how much charge in a mol of electrons.

You gave the answer in C/mol, they want it in F

It goes from 3+ to 0 oxidation state. So there is a change of 3 electrons. You also used 2 moles so 2*3 = 6 electrons (or technically 6 mols of electrons).

6 faraday or (6 x 96485 c/mol) = 578,910 coulombs

The question asks how many faradays. Your answer of 579000 is in Coulombs

you forgot to convert.

1 faraday = 96500 coulombs
