Can someone help me figure out this problem. Thanks.

How much 4 M Ca(OH)2 is needed to neutralize 300 mL of 3 M HNO3?

Answer is: 112.5 ML

So this problem is a simple neutralization problem.

The trick is to realize that the first reagent donates 2 OH- upon dissociation.
So, it is 2N while the acid is 1N.

(4M)(2 OH-)(x mL) = (3M)(1 H+)(300 mL)

x = 900/8 or 112.5 mL

Hope this helps.
