Cherry Chocolate Dr Pepper

anyone try it yet? I cant decide if I like it or not...its very overwhelmingly chocolatety


to keep this pharmacy related...Remember the good old days of pharmacy when we did soda drinks like this??

Yeah. I tried the diet kind. The chocolate is more of an aftertaste, but with the same intensity as an Altoid.

Personally, I think it's kind of blech. of course I just started likeing regular Dr. Pepper a week ago when it was given to me while I was having caffeine withdrawls.

Man if you're going for caffeine there are better drinks then Dr. Pepper. 😉

I had a bit of it and wished I could untaste it, so I'd vote resoundingly it sucks.

The last soda shop/pharmacy I saw closed when I was young, early 80s or so. I'm glad they don't exist now, in the sense that with the growing problem with waist management and DM2, I'm not sure it's such a hot idea. It's like selling cigarettes.

Maybe you should heat it up in a saucepan, old fashioned style and try it that way.

I really like the cherry chocolate stuff, but as a frame of reference, I've been drinking diet sodas for years (started on Tab), don't care for diet Pepsi but love the diet Pepsi Jazz (caramel best, then berry, then strawberry), don't particularly care for regular diet doctor, love the diet cherry-vanilla doctor, like the diet berries&cream doctor, and thought the zero-calorie 'flavor shots' at 7-11s were da bomb (I was mixing my own cherry-chocolate diet Doctor at the fountains).

Also- there is a definite difference in taste between the canned cherry-chocolate and the bottled cherry-chocolate. I prefer the bottled, but will occasionally drink the canned just for convenience.

There is a charming drug store in Mandan, ND (outside of Bismarck) that still has the wooden bar, serves a hot lunch and ice cream goodies in real glass containers with real metal spoons. I skipped a day in high school to hit the mall in Bismarck, but I had to go to the little drug store to get a banana split. If I ever own my own pharmacy I'll aspire to the same old-fashioned style.

thats what I thought too but its actually pretty good. its not my favorite, but it is a nice change every so often. The looks/reactions you get from ordering it are so fun.

The drinks, ice, tator tots, and cheesecake bites are the only good things from there. I don't know what I'd do with out my drinks from there!
