One website I like a lot for a quick recipe is www. all recipes . com. (no spaces). You can search and waht not and it gives user reviews on most of the recipes with hints and stuff that people did. They're not the most gourmet recipes but they do have some good stuff if you just use 5 star recipes.

Land of Plenty by Dunlop is the best Chinese cookbook I have seen. The dishes come out great and they are authentic as well (added bonus). However, Sichuanese cooking is very spicy and it's quite different from the other Chinese cuisines you may be familiar with.

Irene Kuo's the Key to Chinese Cooking is very good for the typical Chinese dishes you may encounter in the US. There are no pictures but the recipes turn out well.

Yan-Kit So's Classic Chinese Cookbook is excellent as well. A few of the dishes from that book are ones which you will make often.

You probably want to start with Yan-Kit's books since they have pictures.

Also, take a look at Amazon since they usually sell cookbooks at a large discount and free shipping.

Good luck

Culinary Journey Through China is another great book from Martin Yan (from the TV show "Yan Can Cook"). His book The Chinese Chef is good for a lot of chinese staples.
