Choosing an interview date: is sooner better?

I am trying to decide what date to select for an interview. The school does rolling admissions. Options include interviewing in just a few days, versus all the way out to early October. I feel like having more time to prep is good, but am I at a disadvantage if I'm a later interviewee and the committee has already made selections?

I am trying to decide what date to select for an interview. The school does rolling admissions. Options include interviewing in just a few days, versus all the way out to early October. I feel like having more time to prep is good, but am I at a disadvantage if I'm a later interviewee and the committee has already made selections?

Theoretically, there will be fewer seats to fill, but when CYMS comes, there will be seats available as those with multiple offers pick where they want to go. Classes should not be filled until March, right before CYMS.
